Web & Things ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Bennett mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
Information We Collect
Financial Data You Enter
When you use Bennett, you may enter the following financial data:
- Bill names, amounts, and due dates
- Budget categories and spending limits
- Transaction amounts, merchants, and categories
- Income information
- Daily check-in notes
This data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData and may be synced via Apple iCloud if you have iCloud enabled.
Data Stored on Your Device Only
The following data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to our servers:
- All financial data (bills, budgets, transactions)
- App preferences and settings
- Notification preferences
- Streak and check-in history
iCloud Data
If you have iCloud enabled, your financial data may be synced through Apple's CloudKit service to:
- Sync data across your Apple devices
- Enable budget sharing with other users you invite
- Provide cloud backup
iCloud data is managed by Apple and subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have direct access to your iCloud-stored data.
How We Use Your Information
Your financial data is used solely to:
- Provide the App's budgeting and bill tracking features
- Generate spending insights and analysis (processed locally on your device)
- Send bill reminders and budget alerts via local notifications
- Sync data across your devices via iCloud
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal financial data with third parties.
Analytics
Bennett uses PostHog for anonymous usage analytics to help us improve the App. Analytics data includes:
- App feature usage patterns (e.g., which screens are visited)
- App performance metrics
- Device type and operating system version
Analytics data does NOT include your financial information (bills, budgets, transactions, income, or spending amounts). No personally identifiable financial data is ever transmitted to analytics services.

- Subscription management and in-app purchases

- No financial data is shared

Data Storage and Security
Your financial data is primarily stored locally on your device. When iCloud sync is enabled, data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. We do not operate our own servers for storing your financial data.
Data Retention
Your data is stored on your device for as long as you use the App. You may delete all your data at any time through the App's settings. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data. iCloud data can be managed through your Apple ID settings.
Budget Sharing
When you share your budget with another user:
- Shared data is synced via Apple iCloud between participants
- The shared user can view and modify shared budget data, bills, and transactions
- You control who has access and can revoke sharing at any time
- We do not have access to the content of shared data
Notifications
Bennett uses local notifications (not push notifications from a server) for:
- Bill payment reminders
- Budget limit alerts
- Spending streak reminders
- Weekly summary reports
These notifications are generated entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to our servers.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all your data (stored locally on your device)
- Delete all your data through the App's settings
- Disable iCloud sync at any time
- Revoke budget sharing access
- Disable analytics collection

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
